This is very close to the recipe my mom used every bit I was growing up. She would brand 50-100 at a time and freeze whatever wasn't used. You lot don't need to defrost them when you're ready to melt. Call up when frying the lumpia, put the seam downwards first - it helps to seal information technology improve. My boyfriend is Filipino and I've eaten lumpia at every political party and get-together we've had with his family. This recipe is the closest matter to the lumpia his mother makes. The only changes I tried were to half the light-green onions and add in i/4 loving cup chopped fresh green beans, omit the table salt and utilize depression sodium soy sauce and add 2 tsps Adobo seasoning to the meat. This adds a little more than flavor without too much actress common salt. I likewise doubled the recipe and made beef, beef and pork, and just pork lumpia. This is a great base recipe. Lumpia recipes are flexible and you tin add or decrease whatever you want. Traditionally the raw meat is mixed with the spices, rolled, and cooked. This is a great recipe! However, I reccommend calculation 1 head of cabbage and 4 medium sized carrots. The extra veggies just seem to add to the flavor and turn out only like I remember them from when I was a child. I also reccommend trying a apple cider vinegar and garlic dipping sauce--4 cloves garlic to one loving cup apple tree vinegar. Thanks for the groovy recipe!! :)

Positively delicious! (hey guys!) This makes a terrific titbit, but my gang prefered this as function of their repast. For those who can't discover lumpia wrappers, you can brand your own. information technology's simply equal parts of rice flour and water. apply a nylon pastry brush to 'paint' the batter on a large skillet and take the pan out of the fire once information technology's dry. but flip the cooked wrapper on top of some parchment newspaper and put on your filling. I've tried the other Lumpia recipes on this site and they exercise not fifty-fifty compare to this one. These turned out succulent! Everyone in my family admittedly loved them. I fifty-fifty froze half of them and cooked them a couple of weeks later on and they tasted but equally good as the get-go batch. Cheers for this great recipe!

I almost wish I had never tried this recipe. I most wish I didn't know how easy and inexpensive it is to make these in my own kitchen. Now I find myself continuing in my kitchen in the morning wondering how lumpia would go with my coffee. Seriously, these things are so easy and awesome. My fellow (who eats like a bird) ate vii of them. And they are total of veggies! So what if it's fried veggies, at least they're there! Like I said, try this recipe only if you want to open the door to breakfast lumpia.

I liked the filling but idea it could have used a petty more season. I didn't accept the lumpia...actually this is the showtime fourth dimension I've heard of lumpia. I couldn't find whatsoever at my local supermarket, merely I had enough of wonton wrappers in my fridge. We made mini-eggrolls with them and ate every one! I made a dipping sauce out of orangish marmalade, dijon mustard and horseradish to taste. Thanks for submitting Christina.

I've had lumpia many times over the years and this recipe rates right up there with the best. I want to point out that it makes xxx, as indicated, just y'all take to utilize three teaspoons of filling, not tablespoons. If yous employ tablespoons, you'll end upwardly with about x lumpia the size of an eggroll. One of the notable differences about lumpia is that it's tightly rolled, small in diameter, and doesn't take a lot of filling in information technology. Bang-up recipe, very close to the orginal recipe that was taught to me as a kid. The only change that I would make is to add bakchoy cabbage and cilantro both finely chopped. The flim-flam is to make sure that all ingredents are minced in nutrient processor and so add basis pork. I detect that using one pound of pork and 2 pounds of veggies balances the rolls. This is a family and gathering favorite!

I love this recipe!! I've been making these for years and I've establish a flim-flam to cut down on prep. Utilize bagged coleslaw mix! It's got the cabbage and carrots all prepare to get. I usually use the whole handbag and so I double everything else. Also, the thinner y'all can roll these, the meliorate. Sometimes I skip rolling them all together and serve the filling over rice. SO Practiced!!

this was a big hitting with my family unit and friends who accept never tried lumpia. i had to use eggroll wraps as in that location are no asian markets in the expanse. just when i was in the PI i call back that they were a lot smaller..are the lumpia wraps smaller?

We actually enjoyed these!! For variation, I added some diced shrimp and drinking glass noodles...made information technology into more than of a bound curl, I guess. Brought it to a family gathering and there was none left on the tray. Great recipe LatinaCook, thanks for sharing.

This recipe is good and very close to my family unit's recipe. Just a few things were missing, like bean sprouts and string beans. The bean sprouts you go along whole as for the string beans you actually cut at a bias (diagonal) into very thin slices. Instead of mincing some of the ingredients you would really cutting them into Julienne. At present the recipe asks for lumpia wrappers which isn't very precise. In my opinion Menlo all purpose wrappers piece of work the best, it comes in a ruddy bundle with chinese writing on the right side and you can detect these wrappers at virtually any Filipino store. Also if anyone is interested in a very simple dipping sauce for Lumpia..... believe it or not vinegar and garlic is the typical choice for any filipino. But take a few garlic cloves and smack them a few times just to take the skins off and to release the garlics flavour and mix information technology in with vinegar and some common salt. Very traditional Lumpia dipping sauce.

These were good nonetheless they needed more than flavor in the meat. I added sesame oil, oyster sauce, minced ginger root, some red pepper flakes & chopped cilantro to the meat mixture later it cooled. Made 25 lumpia and all were eaten. Used sugariness chile dipping sauce.

I have been a USMC wife for 35+ years and this recipe is the closest i have seen to the 1 taught to me by a close friend who had also married a Marine. She was new to the Usa from the Phillipines. My family swallow these as a meal with rice and asian veggies on side. my husband perfers to americanize his, with catsup as his dipping sauce. thanks for the mail

These are perfect!!! I doubled the recipe using i/2 beefiness & i/two pork. Put in 2 extra garlic cloves (can't help myself) and had to use eggroll wrappers cause I live in a small town westward/no asian food market place. They were still fantastic. Doubling the recipe and using about 2T in each one, yielded almost xl-45. I probably could have put slightly less filling in them and made fifty but this was fine for my group. I used Frank'southward Crimson Hot Sweet Chili Sauce for dipping. YUMMY ! ! !

DON'T BE Afraid! Make these! I did and they are succulent. They were VERY like shooting fish in a barrel to brand and gather. Ingredients were piece of cake to find. I used pre-shredded "fancy" cabbage and carrot match- sticks to salvage on time. I used nigh 1.v cups of cabbage in the "meat mixture" and still would prefer more. The flavors were perfect. Make these alee of time and freeze; fry up right before serving. They stay HOT for a long fourth dimension. Nifty recipe. Will make again and again. Thanks!

I had some mini lumpias at a gather years ago and loved them. so when I saw this recipe I just had to try it. It worked similar a amuse. Subsequently the commencement two, wrapping was easy. This was succulent, I confess to a small modification. I added about double the cabbage and so I added about two tbsps of saccharide to the filling. It didn't sweeten it and so much equally smooth out the flavors. Lumpia wrappers are fourth dimension consuming to separate, but very tasty. I have made this several times and go along getting happier with my efforts. I substituted chicken for the pork and wonton wrappers for the lumpia wrappers once and they were nonetheless expert. My 3 year former must have an asbestos mouth, because she grabs them up as fast as she can get her hands on them and they disappear. This has already become a favorite around here. Thanks Christina!

This was really good! I'm made information technology as is and and then several times with variations. You don't need the oil to cook the pork as information technology'll melt in its own fat. I doubled the crushed garlic and upped the veggies to 3/4 cup green onions, 3/iv cup regular onions, three/iv cup carrots, and 2 cups cabbage. I too added ane/2 lb shrimp because we dearest shrimp! The wrappers should exist cut into quarters because lumpias are really small, with 1 TB filling per wrapper. I was hesitant to attempt baking these as per others' suggestions merely I'm sooo glad I tried it! I sprayed them with cooking spray and broiled in the oven at 425 for 18 min, flipping once throughout. This made about lxx lumpias. We definitely don't feel so bad eating so many of them if they're baked :) Sometimes I also throw in 2 tsps of fish sauce into the mix. Since my husband is Vietnamese, we eat them Vietnamese-way, wrapping each lumpia in a lettuce foliage and dipping information technology in fish sauce when eating. Yum! So glad these freeze well too.

Non to nifty on the flavour...I'm still going to search for what I was introduced as a Lumpia. I'm sure at that place are lots of recipes out there...I merely need to find it. Also I could only get egg ringlet wrappers....I really wanted bound roll wrappers. Information technology really makes a difference in taste.

Thank you for this wonderful recipe. My grandma Talin used to brand these and they were delicious, but I never got her recipe. I remember her adding a scattering of raisins to the filling, besides..maybe not traditional, but very tasty. Also, nosotros dip our lumpia in assistant ketchup (sold in Asian markets).

I am Filipino and have tasted many different Lumpia recipes...this was a great one! I institute you have to be very careful with the temperature of the oil, definitely keep information technology at medium. If the oil is too hot, the outside cooks too speedily and the inner wrapper doesn't get crispy. I used Spring Roll wrappers from the Chinese grocery store.

This was SOOO good. Reminds me and so much of the lumpia that the ladies at my church would brand. I omitted the onions since I have picky kids and used onion salt instead. Besides....to make this Then much easier on you, I bought the coleslaw handbag of cabbage, and a bag of shredded carrots. I did put the carrots in a chopper to mince them but the already shredded cabbage made this recipe the easiest ever. Also, my mother in law suggested mixing corn starch with water in a bowl and using that as the glue. Worked like a amuse. I froze the extra rolls for easy frying next fourth dimension!

I tin't believe how like shooting fish in a barrel this was. And adequately quick! From start to dinner tabular array it was only an hour and one/two. Could only find WonTon wrappers and then I guess we had Filipino Won Tons! I fried them in a lilliputian oil instead of deep frying them. YUM! I'll certainly make these again!

DEE-LI-CIOUS! I followed the recipe to the alphabetic character exept for the soy sauce. I didn't have any and so I used a bit of Yoshida terriaki. It was quite good. I did quite a bit of "test tasting" during the cooking that I was full by the showtime one. I liked this recipe alot, glad I establish it!

This recipe was and so simple and then easy to set! I took the advice of others and omitted the salt and added a lot of actress cabbage to the mix. To save on time, I used pre-shredded cabbage from the supermarket! I will definitely endeavour this recipe again and try some variations to kick up the flavour a fiddling scrap. Great recipe! These tasted groovy. Fifty-fifty the filipina girls at work were impressed. These are very time consuming and then I make 50-100 at a time and freeze them for later. I utilize banana sauce or all purpose sauce from the oriental market on them. So good.

I have never made ANYTHING asian before. I'm non that great of a cook, but I suprised my husband (whom) loves this dish the other nighttime. It was so like shooting fish in a barrel to make and it turned out WONDERFUL! He took the balance into piece of work for lunch the side by side twenty-four hour period and shared it with the guys. These lumpias have become a family tradition during the holidays. The only change I made was to used WonTon wrappers, it is much easier to use than the spring scroll wrappers. Spoon a tsp of mixture into the center, and so curlicue into a smaller version of the spring gyre. The result is a 2 bite appetizer or side dish that anybody really loves. The play a joke on is to become the oil hot, then each lumpia simply takes about xxx seconds on each side to cook. I usually have to purchase 2 package of 50 ct WonTon Wrappers to utilize upwardly all the filling, makes near 75 lumpias. I used La Choy Sweetness and Sour sauce for dipping.

This recipe is fantastic. Tastes only similar what I had when I was stationed in Baguio in the Phillipines. I have been making these for years. Hint: To cut downwards on the labor, apply egg curlicue wrappers instead of lumpia/won ton wrappers. Cutting in one-half or thirds after rolling.

These are very good. We used egg roll wrappers and used 2 cups shredded cabbage. Other than that we kept the recipe the same and used a sweetness and sour dipping sauce. Nosotros also froze the lumpias after wrapping, so fried when ready to eat. The wrappers on the frozen ones were a footling chewy, but the ones that nosotros cooked immediately after assembling were crispy.

This recipe was ok. I worked with a Filipino lady that used to always make these and I loved them. I never thought nearly request her how to make them until I moved 3000 miles abroad. There were a few things that I realized after making and eating these that I know I'll alter in the future. The first being non to utilize soy sauce AND table salt. To me, they were too salty. And after having them and comparison them to hers, Im pretty certain she didn't use soy sauce. Nor did some other recipe that another Filipino friend of mine fabricated. I don't recall tasting soy sauce in his either. I know at that place are many versions of lumpia and they are very piece of cake to modify. They weren't bad, I still enjoyed them. I inhaled vi in no time with a vinegar garlic dipping sauce. I read through several recipes and noticed some require precooking the meat while others use a raw mixture. I think the next time I will try a raw mixture instead, as these just fell apart and crumbled while trying to consume them, even existence rolled tight. Dipping was difficult without loosing my meat. All in all, this was a swell starting point and looks like it contained most of the stuff I was used to in a lumpia. Also, mine made 21. I noticed afterward the starting time few I was over stuffing, so cut back. Then when I got to most 15, I cutting back more. 1 1/ii Tbs. volition probably yield thirty. I looked forever for a recipe that matched my friend's mother'due south recipe. I finally found information technology. I practise a few things a little differently with regards to prep though. I made this in one case using ground beef merely I botched it desperately by not heating the oil enough and the wraps were oil-soaked :( Equally for the recipe itself, I found at that place were non plenty veggies in it. Next time I volition double the amount, especially cabbage. And, of grade, ensure the oil is hot enough!

A new family favorite! I accept made this recipe several times now and I tin can tell you it'southward been a requested dish for the past several parties I've either thrown or have attended. Wonderful recipe! I did arrange a thing or ii, to my personal preference, not to prepare a problem, but because I liked it a certain way. I'one thousand vegan then I used tofu "mock pork" and wrappers that I knew were vegan friendly. I also substituted bok choy for the greenish cabbage, light-green onions for the regular onion, and I shredded the carrots. Other than that, MARVELOUS recipe!

I made a few changes. I omitted the onions. I doubled the green onions and carrots (used 1 loving cup EACH). I used 2 cups of Napa Cabbage. I just had admission to eggroll wrappers. Very good and very like shooting fish in a barrel to make. I shred my carrot and cabbage in the nutrient processor and also basis my pork a little effectively in the processor, later cooking it kickoff. I made some with chicken the same manner and they were also very tasty. I did add some cooked bean noodles and I call back it fabricated the recipe even meliorate. The first fourth dimension I made these..it was a semi disaster.. The filling was good but when I tried adding them to the lumpia rolls I call up I put too much filling in and they didn't look like lumpias..they looked like egg rolls and tasted like them as well.I was very disappointed!.I put the filling in the refrigerator and went to sleep VERY frustrated.. I love eating lumpias..SO The side by side day I looked on YOU TUBE to encounter how to roll the lumpias and how much filling to put in.. AHH..it was very helpful.. I suggest putting 2 teaspoons of filling in and watching Yous TUBE video on how to roll the lumpias.. They came out so much ameliorate and tasted more like lumpias! Also, don't forget the sweetness chili dipping sauce! Next time I'm going to try with ground beef 'cause I love footing beef lumpias..

This is a great recipe for lumpia. I will flavor it a piffling more side by side time. I am actually going to buy a big nutrient processor just to process everything instead of chopping. I prefer ground pork instead of ground hamburger considering the ground pork has a lot more than flavor. My Filipino Dad who is a dandy cook told me to add chopped shrimp for more than flavor. I flavour the meat mixture with oyster sauce. I found it easier to buy from my local supermarket in Hawaii the chop suey mix (shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, string beans) that comes in a bag.

I used skillet and sauce pan (cooks twice every bit fast), (this would be AWESOME with rice I didn't have wraps so we but ate the WHOLE thing!! -- I made it for viii serv, but my married man and I wolfed information technology all in one dinner!!)

As a kid I recollect visiting Philipino friends who fed these to us all the time! I love egg rolls but actually was trying to find a recipe for these babies...I take made these and find that they are non all that hard (particularly with a mini chopper) and turn out amazing! They fly out of my abode when I make them and have given out the recipe a meg times! I have read about people using the coleslaw mix instead and next time I'm trying that because I never employ upward all the carrots or the cabbage and end up making ii batches! I too utilise the "mini egg ringlet" wrappers and next time I'yard also going to try baking them to cut down on the "fry fatty"...425 for 10 min...turn and another 10 min...should be nice and crispy without the "fry fatty!"

If you have not tried Lumpia, I seriously suggest you take the time to effort this recipe! My MIL makes these and I recently tried my paw in making them. The simply change i made was using basis beef for preference over the basis pork. These are AMAZING! They are great with the lumpia wrappers but I find they are succulent with the regular eggroll wrappers as well. This is one of those dishes you lot can make in majority then freeze what you don't fry. Oestrus up oil at 350 and fry them straight from the freezer for most 5 min and they are just as good as they are made fresh.

I added about 4 oz of sliced button mushrooms when I added the cabbage. The simply problem I had was the lumpia wrappers were and so sparse that they wouldn't stay together until I started wrapping with 2 wrappers, so information technology worked much amend. Not sure I like the wrappers every bit much as I like eggroll wrappers. The filling was spot-on though, therefore, v stars.

These lumpia turned out okay; made every bit directed, and yielded merely 15. The primary upshot was that the filling was too loose, which made consuming the lumpia difficult (filling barbarous out). One positive - I used grapeseed oil for the frying, and it was amend than whatsoever other oil I've used in the past, as it did non smoke, maintained temp, and there was no notable flavor from the oil.

This recipe is very good. I read all the reviews ahead of fourth dimension. So I ommitted the salt as suggested. I put in cabbage, shredded carrots and used more than pork than beefiness. It was very good and I will use the recipe again except I would even use more cabbage and carrots. Cheers - swell recipe

I accept to give this recipe a 5. I love this recipe! The only problem I had was finding Lumpia wrappers here in Ohio, and then I bought springroll wrappers, which didn't work at all. I fabricated a tester and information technology barbarous apart, so I form the filling into a meat loaf and it turned out amazingly well! And then now, as much as I beloved lumpia, I love lumpia meatloaf even more than haha Thanks for the recipe!

These are wonderful! We are a military family and have been lucky enough to meet several Philipino friends over the years, and I must say these are equally practiced or improve than any others I've ever eaten. Utilise a handbag of pre-shredded coleslaw for quicker cabbage prep. I prefer to fry in peanut oil, and make a DOUBLE batch considering they freeze beautifully and you lot tin can fry them afterward direct from frozen. I ALWAYS utilise Simex wrappers, which are institute in the freezer section. Peachy served with Mae Ploy sauce!

This recipe was wonderful! And not hard to make at all. The simply thing I did dissimilar from the recipe was add about a teaspoon of sesame oil to the mixture. I did find that three heaping tablespoons of mixture per whorl only made about 15 instead of the xxx the recipe is supposed to make. So the 2d time I made them I only did about a tablespoon of mixture and got a lot more rolls. Thank you for an awesome recipe!

well this was a delicious!...but like any other recipe u should season the meat to taste. i also read a review about the filling not holding together but if u minimize the amount u put in the wrapper the problem is fixed!

Born and raised in Hawaii, I ate alot of Lumpia's. This one wasn't to my liking, simply information technology may have been because of the wrap. Where I live they don't take Asian Markets to buy the wrappers yous need. I had to use Egg Roll Wrappers which is non what you use for Lumpia, information technology's thicker than the traditional Lumpia Wrappers. Only, my husband took it to piece of work and all 20 were guzzled by his co-workers inside 5 minutes. They loved it!!

This was nothing like the lumpia my Philepino neighbors brand, but it was nonetheless delicious. Meat mixture tasted skilful, but didn't concord itself together like a traditional filling does. My neighbour suggested calculation soaked 'pan', (a bread which can be establish at many Asian markets)to the meat subsequently information technology has been cooked.

My stride-mother was from Manila and settled in San Francisco subsequently WWII. She made hundreds of lumpia at a time and kept them in the freezer. Her recipe was quite involved. Ground beef, pork sausage, baby shrimp, bok choy, dark-green cabbage, shredded green beans and carrots, ginger, chestnuts,garlic onion and green onion, fish sauce, soy sauce. I've taken up the tradition of spending 1 or 2 days a year making hundreds for the freezer and cook them up for company, parties, and sending some home with visitors just similar my step-mother did. I'grand teaching my daughter and granddaughters and a few interested friends how to make lumpia. Groovy opportunity to sit down and roll and conversation and express joy.

Wonderful recipe and truly easy! Simply 2 changes equally we don't eat whatsoever "red meat". Used 1/two basis turkey and 1/ii turkey italian sausage and fried in evoo vs. veggie oil. Made 21 and there were NONE left.

This reminded me exactly of the lumpia nosotros used to beg for every year when our family unit friends made their almanac batch. LOVED it! I served it with some home fabricated sweet and sour. Although time consuming, I will triple the recipe and freeze it next time.

These are very skilful! I accept used this recipe 3 times & they are simple & delicious! The only changes I made were one) I doubled the vegetables 2) Instead of veg. oil, I prepped the filling in sesame oil, and 3) I added nearly i/ii tsp freshly ground ginger. There is a simple tomato plant paste-pineapple based sugariness & sour sauce on this website that goes splendid due west/ these.

I had wanted to make these for a long time, but I thought that they would be really hard to make. Boy, was I wrong. They are really easy and they taste wonderful!! My family loves them. I accept made them twice, the beginning time I used ground turkey, and the 2nd I did not apply any meat. They are great both ways.

This is a wonderful recipe and a staple of my kitchen at present. I employ leap roll wrappers considering I haven't institute lumpia wrappers, merely they work fine. I utilise basis turkey instead of pork and at to the lowest degree 1 cup of chopped cabbage. In fact, I ordinarily buy a "cole slaw mix" and chop up that along with some chopped baby carrots. I put a tablespoon or more of soy sauce, and I include a can of chopped water chestnuts. I employ dried minced onion rather than spring onions. They're always a hit!

WOW! I grew up in Hawaii and later on beingness away for 15 years, I experience similar I accept taken a trip down retention lane. This recipe is delicious, and yes, they are much amend than egg rolls. Instead of shredding cabbage and carrots, I buy the preshredded mixture in the bagged salad section. This was awesome! I tried this fried equally written, as steamed dumplings, and as a lettuce wrap. All 3 preparations were delicious but I accept to say that my favorite fashion of eating this was straight out of the pan! The recipe fabricated more we were going to eat then I refrigerated some of the filling and ate it the next 24-hour interval heated in the microwave. The best!! Besides served homemade fortune cookies from this site. How fun!

Outstanding! I omitted the cabbage since my husband is on blood thinners and can't have the vit 1000, but was still slap-up! As some other reviewer wrote, use only 3 teaspoons (not 3 tablespoons) per wrapper. Without the cabbage, it made 21 rolls. I served with bottled Thai sweetness chili sauce in a basin. Anybody loved them!

AMAZING!!!! I used ground beef in place of the pork but otherwise fabricated as directed. I found the wrappers at my local asian mart and the prices on the ingredients were a third of the toll in the grocery store. I would not employ won ton or egg roll wrappers due to the thickness. I served them with a sweet chili sauce and fried rice. So good! Thanks for sharing!

This was the 2nd time i made these only on the beginning i used the wonton wrappers similar another user suggested considering i didnt detect the leap roll/lumpia wrappers in the local grocery store. I liked them but plant it hard to wrap with the wonton so i ventured out to the Oriental Market and got the correct wrappers and the lady at the market suggested a sweet chili sauce for dipping. WOW!!!!! THIS IS A KEEPER!! make sure you use the correct wrappers though. Thank you for an original recipe!!

It's OK, a little light on flavor. I added i Tbsp oyster sauce and it still tasted a little light. Might desire to add more something to it. Adept way to cook w/o a lot of oil.

I make lumpia all the time. I don't add together cabbage, just I practice add dark-green pepper. To boot it up a bit I take half my meat mixture and add together a couple of chopped serrano peppers and some cilantro. I also use at least a head of garlic. No green onions, soy sauce, garlic powder. If you can't find lumpia wrappers bound roll wrappers work pretty good. I was taught by a Filipino Woman while we were in the Air Force.

Wow! I made this recipe for a group of hungry guys and they all raved about them. I made mine in spring roll wrappers, and a bit bigger than traditional lumpia. I've since made this recipe again and used to fill egg rolls. I must say that the filling has a flake too much pork for traditional egg rolls, which generally have more veggie than meat. I'grand going to endeavour again, simply cut the pork down to 1/four and double or even triple the veggies. This is a fantastic recipe that volition show you just how easy it is to make scroll filling and requite yous a smashing starting point for your favorite ingredients. I intend to try this with diced shrimp, veggies and celephane noodles. Mmmmmm....

First-class recipe!! My friend makes lumpia's simply never finished giving me the recipe. This one tastes exactly like hers. I made2 adjustments- I mixed jimmy dean sausage curl with footing beef- YUM!! and I seasoned with a little adobo along with seasoning mentioned. They came out succulent!!! Was able to freeze xv and we ate up fifteen betwixt the three of us...:-) Served with Sweet chilli sauce! (the lumpia papers are a headache to piece of work with only sooo worth the try.)

This lumpia is really succulent and really easy to make. The but variations I did was I used a lot more cabbage than what the recipe called for and I used ground sausage because it has more than flavors. I only scooped one to one and a half spoon of the filling instead of three because lumpias are supposed to be skinny when they are rolled up. When I did this the outset fourth dimension, I was only able to make almost 15 lumpias. You can squeeze most 25 to thirty lumpias if you are consistent with your scoops.

I never heard of lumpias until my coworker brought them for potluck. These things are soooo yummy and satisfying. I didn't accept lumpia wrappers so I used egg roll wrappers instead, which made the lumpias rather oily. Next time I'll effort the lumpia wrappers and I'grand certain they will turn out much better!

The filling is good although I upped the cabbage and carrots and mixed in 2 tblsp Hoisen sauce. I used all green onions. I bought a frozen package of all purpose wrappers and they were a comport to peel apart subsequently completely thawing out. I accidentally wrapped a few in double wrapping (not good) because I wasn't aware how thin the wrappers are. 5 of them got torn while attempting to separate them correctly. Anyway, once I figured information technology out, I rolled them up and froze them. The v I fried fresh wanted to split and filling spewed out the ends. The frozen ones fry upward nicely as long equally you take oil at 350. This gamble takes some practise and patience is all I can say but in the stop, the pre-frozen ones fried up great without falling autonomously. Set for some time wrapping these up and don't overfill Mine were near one/two" bore "logs". Couldn't go them any smaller w/out it being all wrapper versus filling. Mine actually looked the the photo posted. When I want to take the time, will make over again! After because the 5 destroyed wrappers + five lumpia I had to throw out, This will brand 30 Lumpia using 1 tblsp of filling each. Very tasty care for! UPDATE: I'm and so happy to have these lumpias, frozen and ready to deep fry for 5 minutes. SO YUMMY. I will def make again to have on hand. Merely ate 4 of these and still desire more than!
